Art Education: Play Based Learning

Art education gives students a deeper understanding of multi-cultural values & beliefs, while bringing to life what students learn in other subjects.

Children’s workshops, particularly in clay allow children to experience the visual arts, develop self-esteem, appreciation of the work of others, self-expression, cooperation, as well as critical thinking skills.

At Karen Singer Tileworks, we run a variety of “Hands On” Children’s Tile Workshops that aim to increase happiness by inspiring creativity. We strive to make happiness happen – we’re smile starters!

It is amazing to watch children relax, unwind, create something with personal meaning, and enjoy themselves. Playing with clay has a calming effect on children of all ages. It helps to relieve stress and offers a positive diversion for young, active minds.

Art Education using Play Based Learning: Playing with clay promotes problem-solving skills. Children get busy thinking about what they are going to create. You can feel the wheels of their minds turning in the room!

Creativity enhances the spirit and generates endorphins. This makes children very, very happy.

Side Effect… Smiles, lots and lots of smiles. It’s contagious!

The beaming smiles are impossible to ignore. And these feelings of accomplishment improve self-esteem: “Look what I made!”

Kids think it is just plain FUN! Look at those SMILES and their beautiful artwork!

Schools, camps, clubs, birthday parties have all benefitted with our Tile Workshops.
