Donor Wall – The Children’s Home

Collaborative Donor Wall

Capital Campaign: “Building the Pathway to the Future One Block at a Time”

Collaborative donor wall that combines raised relief ceramic tile with children’s wooden building blocks.

The imagery in the ceramic section is based on an actual boardwalk on campus that children take to school.

Donor names were laser engraved into building blocks that frame the mural on three sides. Children and staff painted other blocks in on-site workshops run by Karen Singer to frame the vibrant donor wall.

Since 1892 The Children’s Home is a place where children learn to smile and families learn to flourish! Their mission is to strengthen communities through programs that support, serve and protect children and their families. A residential treatment home for children 6-17 who have been traumatized, neglected and abused.

The donor wall focuses on the boardwalk. It represents a residents’ journey through a jungle of darkness and confusion. The boardwalk is symbolic of structure, love, and nurturing received at The Children’s Home.

A bridge from childhood to an empowered and healthy future commemorated by the donor wall.
