Extraordinary Naming Opportunities
A donor- funded naming opportunity is defined when a specific name is bestowed as a functional description or designation in a facility.
Naming opportunities provide a chance to honor generous donors who often are ardent about the mission or identity of an organization because of personal experience. It is one of the most meaningful ways to honor the memory of a loved one.

Dr. James George, a former patient, fundraiser, donor, board member, and abstract painter whose work is installed all over the hospital is the inspiration for the artful signage installed throughout Magee Rehabilitation Hospital.
Dr. George developed a new painting technique using bright colors and strong diagonals through his own therapy work with the Art Therapy team. He has a new profession as a professional artist – he is the epitome of Magee’s mission statement, “Believe in a way Back”. His personal experience serves as an ongoing inspiration for giving.
We were commissioned to create signage to name various units throughout the hospital. The letters are glazed to mimic the strong gesture and bright palette of Dr. George’s paintings.

Jerry Segal, former patient, donor, and board member, who recovered from a spinal cord injury believes in giving back to support the future of Magee.

In addition to the Wenkos Center for Brain Injury and Stroke, Segal’s best friend, John Wendkos continues giving to Magee.

George “Moose” Beerley, a former patient was remembered and honored by his family.
“I have been working with Karen for over 10 years on multiple projects, and she has helped us raise the profile of donor recognition at our hospital. Her creative ideas have been great and her artistic talents have made donor recognition something people ask about. It’s nice to see people stopping to read the plaques on the walls instead of just walking by them.”
