Donor Wall featuring Ceramic Tile, Glass, and Wood
Sinai Hospital of Baltimore is a Jewish-sponsored healthcare organization providing care for all people.
The donor wall is an imaginary “Biblical Garden” ceramic tile mural featuring plants mentioned in the Bible or that are significant to Judaism.
The donor names were sandblasted into glass tiles, framed in wood, and displayed on either side of the mural.

When the hospital renovated their elevator lobbies they challenged us to reconfigure their historic donor recognition. Our solution was to develop a series of five ceramic header panels using different plant images from the Biblical Garden mural. Below the headers are glass panels containing every word of historic text.
The donor recognition throughout the hospital is now thematically tied together and the panels function as a “wayfinding” system for each floor of the hospital.
