The donor wall for this synagogue consists of what we refer to as the ceramic tile frame. The frame depicts the “Seven Species” mentioned in the Old Testament as the “Bikkurim” or sacred fruits and grains grown in Israel. Included are date palm, wheat, barley, pomegranates, figs, olives and grapes. Ancient Israelites were farmers and shepherds, to them, the seven species were evidence of the land’s bounty and of God’s love toward them.
The text area listing donor names was made to resemble parchment, on which the Torah scroll is written.

In addition, a room plaque with ceramic tile grapes of the “Seven Species” was created to honor the family that funded the Sanctuary.
